Bearing [pardon the pun) in mind I have not seen the plans for the new lights. All I know is what I've read in the papers. I would have assumed that the new Brookvale Oval lights would be on lighting towers. I have been into the ground early this evening to do some reconnaissance and I sighted new flood light fittings on the roof of the jane try stand. You cannot see this from the road. I took some pics and here's some samples in a rocker world exclusive LOL;) .

This is not to say that towers are not to be built. There is a construction site presumably for a tower in the South western corner of the ground.

There is also a new glass or perspex panel on the players tunnel presumably to give them more protection from hostile fans.

Well done Geoff, the lights on Jane Try Stand appear to be aimed at the walkway below, I doubt they will be lighting the ground, at the angle they are facing they would blind the players as well as the fans on the hill.

The perspex has been there since the last couple of games after some ordinary referring and fans responding after the game and at half time.

All in all though a great scoop for this site, again, well done.

Thanks for the update Geoff. I went past Brookie yesterday on my way to the Doctors and I noticed that the tops of the existing light towers had been taken off. Can you confirm this.

Geoff, that is so exciting! I can see our seats & I can't wait until
next season! We received our new season tickets in the mail today
they have BK on the front of them.
Those lights do appear to be aiming down below at the walkways.
Anyways, it is all taking shape for next season!
Thanks Geoff.

The old lights are still there on the present towers. I just had another stroll across there and had a look.

Sgt the lights are probably adjustable I'd say. Their positioning now is not necessarily how they will be come game day. I.m.o. I don't think the council would go to all the expense of putting floodlights up there to just light the walkway. I'd say they are for the field and have not been positioned that way yet. I was thinking though if thats all we're getting for a million dollars the council has been ripped off. There's no way that lot would be worth a million dollars even with installation costs. There must be more to come. Time for CofFee
