The food and beer shed on the hill adjacent (north of the stand) to the Jane try stand is gooooooooorn. All that is there is the brick stands and the steel girders it rested on and most of the shop itself is in a skip bin. The heap of dirt outside the fence has been flattened out and I guess that they may be going to pave it as a section has been paved already. I doubt very much that a light tower is going in there.
Near the Pittwater road entrance (but inside the grounds) is a freight container. Who knows what is in there?
I'll keep everybody updated with progress..
Go and pick the lock tonight when it's dark

Thats something I've never learned lol seeing I'm not into breaking and entering or lieing or stealing. We'll find out soon enough. The grounds are locked up overnight.butt
I was just reporting because I thought you guys might be interested. I walked through there on my way to Mcdonalds.

Been for a stroll over to the ground and was going to kick a ball around for awhile but they were watering the ground. I noticed that they have dug a small trench behind the hill beer shed and maybe its going to be replaced next. A new one has gone up on the North/western hill. Also finally the foundations have been dug for the four new light towers plus a basketball practice court has been built near where the North western light tower will be.
I may go over later and do some kicking practice.

i have a feeling that the beer shed has been trashed (finally!!!!!!!!!!!!) as the eagles have done a substantial catering package deal with a more professional catering firm --- and i would imagine the old beer shed will be getting replaced by a new shed/s for food and drink sales on the hill
the old outlets in the ground are by far the worst aspect of going to brookie in my opinion and the sooner the ground gets better drink / food outlets with easy access and much shorter waiting times the better for EVERYONE concerned from the fan to the caterer to the club itself!

i wouldnt mind some different food at the footy....sick of cold pies , and overpriced potato chips.....maybe nachos, baked potatos , yeeros ( ie - not kebabs ) and steak sandwiches...what do you guys reckon ???

It would be good but I haven't seen it any other venue that I can recall. The usual food at most grounds is Pies, chips, hot dogs and sausage rolls. Probably why I usually take my own food. There must not be enough of a market for mexican food even though I love it. They have closed all of the Taco Bell outlets in Australia.
According to Spook we have signed a deal with a new caterer so we could possibly move up market. If food is more expensive they'll risk losing paying fans as the entry fee has gone up as well.

No Spooky. I was at Brookvale Oval Today The Beer shed is the same on the Hill !
Geoff was talking about the Beer shed at the Northern end of the Jane Try Grandstand. It has been replaced with a "NEW" building.
Noticed almost all the signage has been removed from the Playing Field fence.
I think they will be using the scroling type of signes that sit on the ground just inside the fence. (So fans will not be able to bang on the fence during Goal kicks in future)
I took Photos but getting them from my phone into the computer is another problem. !

new caterers are called
Fit For A King
and they have apparently signed a lucrative long-term deal - so i would imagine they are going to want much more modern / cleaner / and user friendly infrastructure put in place >>> i am only guessing - but that would be my bet for what is being done on the hill
and steak sandwiches would be awesome!
i feel like one now thanks to your post!!!!

Greg did you notice the mounds of dirt next to the beer shed? I walked up there to investigate. They have started a trench behind the beer shed, why would that be? It is only speculation but they may be looking at replacing it.

thanks Geoff for the pics.
I can see our seats!! lol
As for food, I don't eat anything at the footy.
Usually just drink water.I think the corn stand
Solo had was a good idea! Most people want to eat
healthy food & a yummy grilled corncob was a great
idea!
When we went to the away game at Cronulla they
were selling sushi. I have never seen that before.
