Brett Stewart has suffered more than anyone can know by the allegations from a father and daughter whose background reads ex con with a history of criminal dealings and a daughter with a psychiatric history, how this case ever got this far is beyond me, there was no DNA evidence just the claims of a young girl claiming sexual assault and the very flimsy case of the prosecution, from what I have read and heard during the court proceedings the further the case went the less likely it appeared he would be found guilty.
No matter what the result, no one here is the winner. In Brett Stewart's case there will always be those who will doubt his innocence and will continue to believe he must be guilty simply because he is a footballer and that he had been drinking. In the girls case she will have to live with this episode for the rest of her life, in the end they are both victims.
